A good Series 63 strategy when studying for this NASAA exam and hold a lot of practice questions. In today’s post, we explain why.
Series 63 Strategy: One Rule Might Have Many Scenarios
A good Series 63 strategy for studying involves a lot of practice questions. The best platform for this approach is Kaplan in our opinion at Professional Exam Tutoring.
Kaplan‘s depth of experience with this exam and wide range of practice questions provides a wide array of scenarios you’ll need to be familiar with.
Often on the Series 63 exam, it’s one thing to know a rule or law – such as what makes for an exempt security or exempt transaction – but it’s another thing to be presented with 15 or 20 different scenarios where you need to apply that rule.
For these different scenarios, we highly recommend that you alternate between full practice exams, and then honing in on your weak areas.
How to Bulk up Your Weak Areas
Once you have completed a full practice exam on Kaplan, take a look at their performance tracker. The performance tracker is an excellent resource that breaks down your score by section and subsection. You can find it by clicking on your practice exam and then look for a small icon that looks like a bar graph.
Take note of which subsections are still causing you issues. Do this by looking at low scoring areas.
Specifically, create practice quizzes with no more than 20 questions for any subsection where you’re scoring below 60%. Prioritize sections where you score is very low, and the number of questions offered on Kaplan seems relatively high.
That’s usually a sign that it’s an important section worth bulking up.
Overall, we highly recommend this approach and we’ve seen it bring up scores for many years. Whether it’s enough to get you over the finish line depends on how much work you put in. So, put in the work and try to get a good understanding. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Good luck!
