Our "in-person" SIE tutor experience is a little different than the online experience. The content we cover (typically from STC or Kaplan) will obviously be the same but the interaction is slightly different. Additionally, in-person we can more easily share notes, go through examples, and there is no risk of "technical difficulties" on either end. Although we try our best to limit when difficulties occur, we ultimately have no say when technology will fail on rare occasions.

Where to Study?

First, for the peace of mind of both the tutor and the student, your SIE exam tutor will meet you in a neutral setting. As a result, the first lesson is typically at a coffee shop or office space. If you prefer to study out of your home but don't want an online tutor then we can relocate after the first or second session, as long as everyone feels comfortable with that arrangement. The environment is important, and helps maintain focus. However, I usually leave this up to the student after our first meet-up. Importantly, the student is much more informed as to how he/she focuses best.

What to Expect?

You will receive customized notes for the topic you'd like to cover. Any examples, scribbles, or notes that we write out during the session you are welcome to keep. After we spend a short amount of time reviewing the notes, we take time to do some practice questions. This will help reinforce what you've just learned. It will also prepare you for the types of questions that you will see on the exam.

What else?

As a bonus, I typically allow students to email me when they have one-off questions. I may not be able to respond right away but I do my best to get back to you within 24 hours. There is no charge for the time it takes to answer your questions. I also offer guidance, or advice for those curious about career options. I have been in the financial services industry for well over a decade. So with that background, I can help illuminate what job possibilities are realistic and available to you based on your experience/education.

What if I would prefer online tutoring? Certainly, that's fine too. Rather, many of my students decide to switch to online tutoring after we first meet. Consequently, if you are crunched for time, check out my Online Series 7 Tutor option. Feel free to call us at any time to set something up.
