Long Weekend Studying: Do a Little and You Won’t Have to Do A Lot

Long Weekend Studying

If you’re looking for a quick tip on long weekend studying, we have some quick advice for you. Today we will offer up  a quick tip to keep you sharp.

Long Weekend Studying

There is no reason to ruin your whole weekend for the sake of studying. However, we advise a few simple things to keep your knowledge sharp.

First, with any downtime consider spending 15-20 minutes reviewing formulas, definitions, or rules and regulations. Keep flash cards nearby to make sure you can do a quick review. You are unlikely to lose any real knowledge over a long weekend, but you can keep things fresh. We recommend specifically that you focus on areas that are giving you trouble. Some recommendations per exam:

SIE Exam – Rule 144, Reg D, SEC Act of 1933 or 1934

Series 7 Top-Off Exam – Municipal Securities (definitions), Investment Companies, Tax Rules

Series 86 – Formulas

Series 79 – Formulas and Investment banking process

Series 63 – Exempt Securities vs Exempt Transactions

Series 66 – Exempt Securities vs Exempt Transactions as well as NPV, IRR, and Rule of 72

Take Time to Relax

Without spending any time relaxing burnout can sink in. Even if you’re not going away this Labor Day Weekend, consider getting outside. Go for a run or walk. In short, step away from your books for a while. As cliche as it sounds, you need to give your brain a break and reset. You will hear this same advice over and over because it helps. At Professional Exam Tutoring, we’ve found that rested students are productive students. Studying 8 hours per day is rarely a recipe for success (and usually indicates some level of inefficiency).

If you need help beyond this weekend feel free to reach out. We are always available to set up a session, and help you get organized. Most exams need a systematic approach but taking some time off will not totally derail your progress. We wish you good luck!
