When it comes to Series 79 Exam prep, there is not much competition. Knopman Marks seems to take the cake in our experience as the provider of choice.

Series 79 Exam Prep: How Do I Know Where to Start?
The short answer to this question is that it’s not easy. Most students that we come across receive guidance on exam prep resources from their employers. There’s an implicit trust that the employer knows the right vendor for the specific exam – this is not always the case. However, we do find that the large majority of our clients are given Knopman Marks materials as the go-to resource for this exam..
At Professional Exam Tutoring, we are totally agnostic on the exam prep provider for any exam. Our preferred resource is the one that proves most effective in getting students across the finish line.
On that note, Knopman Marks gets a high grade for the Series 79 Exam. This exam is among the most difficult of FINRA’s exams (we might say that the Series 86 Exam is the only one we know of more difficult).
Knopman stands out as having detailed questions and great explanations. Furthermore, their practice scores seem to be fairly representative of what a student is likely to score on the real exam.
Other Choices
Other companies do provide exam prep for the Series 79 as well. However, the only other company that seems somewhat on par with Knopman Marks is Securities Training Corporation (STC).
One issue we find with them however is that their “custom quiz” feature is not as robust as Knopman. Knopman for instance allows you to get very granular in creating custom quizzes by subtopic, whereas STC provides a custom quiz option only by chapter. This can make drilling down on anyone specific topic fairly difficult.
Most other suppliers of Series 79 Exam prep material tend to be fairly off the mark in our experience – as of this writing. For now we continue to recommend going with Knopman Marks for the Series 79 Exam. If you need help beyond the exam prep material feel free to reach out. Good luck!
