In gauging SIE preparedness as you study, you want to keep a few things in mind. In today’s post, we highlight how you can gauge you readiness for the exam.
Gauging SIE Preparedness: What’s the Score?
At Professional Exam Tutoring, we can save you many hours of studying by cutting to the core of a topic. Furthermore, we can also explain topics in very simple to understand plain English explanations. As a bonus, our primary SIE Exam Tutor, has in depth examples and experience to use for each topic.
However, when it comes to gauging how prepared a student is for the actual SIE Exam there is not a lot of magic. Your practice scores are going to be the best information you have.
Different curriculum will give you different practice scores. We’ve worked with almost every curriculum provider out there and what we can say generally is that to be confident going into the real exam, you don’t want to have a score under 80% from any provider.
How Do I Get There?
The best way we’ve found to pass the SIE exam is to fill in gaps as you go. The SIE exam is a very broad based exam covering a wide range of topics. No topic goes too deep. Many people memorize their way through this exam.
After you have read the textbook, which we highly recommend, start working your way through practice questions. Only write down notes on practice questions which you get incorrect.
Use the explanations given to you in the answers provided with the practice questions. Their explanations are often short and sweet and will make sure to get to the point. That’s exactly what you would want in your notes.
Overall, the SIE Exam is a great exam to get behind you. As an introductory exam, you want to get this one over with as soon as possible to make sure you leave yourself enough time for the more difficult exams (Series 7, Series 66, etc). If you need any help, feel free to reach out! Good luck!
