Pass your FINRA Exam in 2026: Here’s How

To pass your FINRA exam in 2026, it will take a little more than luck. However, it’s totally doable with a little work and a good strategy!

In today’s post we ring in the (upcoming) new year with some tips.

Pass Your FINRA Exam in 2026: Focus

When a famous investor was once asked what he believes the single most important reason was for his success, he answered: Focus.

Fortunately, to pass your exam in the upcoming year, you don’t need to be the best investor in history.

But, if you can find it in yourself to focus for even an hour or two of the day, your results will speak for themselves.

At Professional Exam Tutoring, we find studying has diminishing returns after about four hours. If you can put in a solid 1 to 2 hour block of focused studying, that can take you a long way.

What can magnify your progress is knowing what to study.

Make Good Use of Your Time

Spending one or two hours per day is most helpful when reviewing the right content. So, what is the right content?

For most of the exams out there, the best you can do is to get a sense of your weak areas that are highly testable and focus there.

For exams like the Series 86 or the Series 79, plenty of an analytical work needs to be done. Practicing formulas, ratios, and understanding logic-based questions is key.

However, for the Series 63, 65, or 66 (which we should point out are actually NASAA exams) as well as the Series 7 or SIE, there are certain areas on which you can focus your attention and are not that difficult.

For instance, any questions regarding rules should be easy points. Go over questions that have to do with rules and regulations to be sure you are picking up free points.

Overall, start out the new year of 2026 with a plan. This will keep you focused on the prize! If you need any help in your studying, feel free to reach out. Good luck! And happy new year!
